Contains 20 houses with numbers 1-20 on their roofs and the corresponding number of dots on the reverse side

  • Houses are 4cm wide and colour-coded to separate odds and evens.
  • Line up to 10 houses next to each other on each side of the road.
  • Each road piece measures 44cm long and 1 or 2 road pieces can be used depending on the activity.
  • Use both road pieces as a number line putting all 20 houses next to each other in order.
  • Practise odds and evens - evens on one side and odds on the reverse side. Evens are red and odds are yellow.
  • Use "more than, less than and equal to" - the teacher identifies a number and asks students to identify a house number which is one more or one less than the number. Alternatively, the teacher picks a number (for example 7) and asks the students to identify numbers which can be put together to make this number (for example numbers 4 and 3).
  • Practise doubling - pick a number between 1 and 10, then find the house which is double that number.
  • Identify halves - pick an even number, then identify the house that is half this number.
